Learn The Simple Meditation of Calm Abiding
People often make meditation more difficult than it should be. Meditation should be simple.
My favorite meditation, especially for beginners or people who want to move stuck emotions, is Shamatha Meditation. It's also called the meditation of calm abiding or peaceful stillness because you learn how to create this sense of quiet stability in life.
This meditation is simple but highly effective. You can learn it in a single day and it will give you blessings for a lifetime. I learned it back in 2009 and it's still giving me new gifts.
What Can Meditation Do For Me?
Meditation is not about being a blank slate. It's about learning to stay focused and to move energy so that you can leave your meditation cushion a better person.
It's not about always feeling ecstasy. It's about learning that some days you will have "good" days and some days you will have "bad" days and that's okay.
Meditation teaches us lessons about life and better prepares us to stay centered and grounded even when "bad" days arise. It teaches lessons like...

Why Shamatha Meditation?
I learned Shamatha Meditation from Brian Johnson back in 2009 at the peak of my PTSD. It was one of the first things I had found that actually grounded me and made me feel human again. After that, it became part of my life.
I have had the chance to study Shamatha under Buddhist Monks Cyndi Lee and Pema Chodron who both gave me a totally different approach than standard Shamatha Courses. I learned about emotional release through meditation and this has transformed my life.
This course is also unique in that I bring my experience as a Reiki Master into the teachings. I find that we can move so much energy that was once stuck through meditation -- you don't need any energy training, but only a willingness to experience energy movement.
